“Truths about the Corona Virus” | By Pastor Frank Denisi, March 13, 2020

The Practical Truth

The World Health Organization gives us practical advice for our protection to avoid the coronavirus. These instructions are to wash our hands regularly, maintain social distancing, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth and to seek help immediately if you are coughing with trouble breathing and have a fever.

Practically speaking, these are wonderful ways to protect ourselves physically from the coronavirus.

The Prophetical Truth

Have you considered what the Bible says about the coronavirus? The Bible speaks of pandemic virus being a sign of the last days before Christ returns. Consider this,

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.” (Matthew 24:7)

“And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” (Luke 21:11)

In both Bible verses we see that Christ gives us signs to expect before the rapture and the return of Christ.

The word “pestilence” according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary is described as, “a contagious or infectious epidemic disease that is virulent and devastating.” That means that the pandemic virus we see today called “Coronavirus” was already prophesied thousands of years ago in the Bible!  It also gives us another truth; the fact that Jesus Christ is coming back soon.

The Personal Truth

Now that we established the coronavirus pandemic was actually prophesied before time in the Bible, and that it is a sign of the last days before Christ will return. You should ask yourself what it means to you personally, and how will this truth affect you?

Personally, you need to understand you have a body and soul, and that your body will eventually die but your soul will spend eternity in hell if you don’t have Jesus Christ.

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28) You may have fear of a virus, yet not have fear where your soul will spend eternity. I urge you to rethink about what happens to your soul after death.

Please consider these Bible verses, and as you read, let the voice of God speak to your heart.

You must admit that we are all sinners.

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” Romans 3:10

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23

You must believe that Jesus can save your wash away your sins.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

You must confess to God that you need His Son Jesus Christ for salvation.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

Pray and ask Christ to be your Savior today. This goes deeper than any earthly virus scare, for this is the eternal destination of your soul. Take your time and ask God to show you what is truth. Ask Him to come into your life, surrender to Him and let him take control of you. Take time to pray a prayer like this, “Dear Heavenly Father, I understand I am a sinner, I understand that you died on the cross and rose from the grave for me. I ask you to be my Savior, and wash away my sins. The very best I know how, come into my heart, be my Lord, and take me to heaven when I die.”
