July-September 2019 Prayer Letter | @frankdenisi
Dear Praying Friend,
EVANGELISM – God has blessed our soulwinning campaigns in amazing ways. We have been having a regular church-wide soulwinning campaign aside from our regular weekly visitation time. There were a couple of times when we had about 70 of our church members show up for visitation! To God be the glory for that. Pray that we will able to follow up all those who have made professions of faith. By God’s we recently set up an apologetics seminar at the local universities called, The Origin of Life. We had Dr. Stan Prussia as our keynote speaker and saw students as college faculty attend. All totaled we recorded 36 souls who professed Christ as Savior over three different universities! I am planning to have upcoming lectures at the universities regarding “Gender Identity” and “Depression”. I believe that these two topics will draw large numbers of students who will hear a clear plan of salvation as well.
MEN’S OUTREACHES – We recently had a 2 day evangelistic event in which we invited men from the community. These are the former gangsters, dealers, addicts and so forth. We preached the gospel to them and fed them a meal and saw their hard hearts become soft. There is something so special about a man covered on tattoos, who was marked by the world, but kneeling and crying at an altar for God to save him! That is what we saw during that men’s revival. Please pray for a couple of men who were saved and are coming to church already, Jay-R a father of two, and Loloy a father of five. I am reminded of the great truth in 1 Cor. 6:11, “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
MOM & DAD BACK IN CEBU – It is good have our senior pastor, my Dad, Peter Denisi back in Cebu after undergoing a medical procedure to restore his hearing. The ladies in the church are also excited to have my mother back as she is great spiritual influence to the ladies in the church here. Pray for both of my parents for good health and great effectiveness in the ministry.
UPCOMING CONFERENCES – We have two big conferences coming that I need you to pray. Our Jewish Missions Conference, where we will present to the church and to about 50 pastors that will attend about missions giving to reach Jews with the gospel. Pray for the success of this event. This October 6-8, we will be having our church’s Family Conference and we will be hosting again Bro. Bob Jones from Lexington, KY. Please join us in prayer for these upcoming events for revival and God’s moving.
URGENT PRAYER REQUEST – Our property may be sold from under us soon. The owner is already having other buyers come and look at it. Each time a buyer comes in to look, it is disheartening for us a church, but we are trusting God to provide and to do a miracle. Please join us in prayer for the remaining $38,000 USD that we need to make the down payment by faith. This is urgent because it is needed by December 31. Should God direct to another place, we would have to make plans to relocate. We want to avoid this of course as we will possibly lose members who would not be able to travel the distance regularly. We surely need you to join us in prayer for this. Especially this important step in establishing this local church here on the mission field.
MAYOR’S OFFICE – It was very amazing how God worked out one of our newest Bible Studies. Senator Manny Pacquaio was in town to preach and give his salvation testimony. There at the meeting was the Mayor of Cebu, Edgar Labella. He was so moved by the message of Manny that he asked him to send a pastor to preach weekly to him and his office staff. Manny then turned to his assistant Davy, a missionary kid and friend of mine, and asked him, “Can you send a Pastor to the Mayor’s Office for Bible study?” Davy contacted me and asked me to preach the Bible Study at the Mayor’s office. Wow! Last week the Mayor released a Memorandum to his office staff ordering them to attend the weekly Bible study. As of this writing, I am preparing to preach there tomorrow. Please keep this in your prayers.
OUR CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – We had a big answer to prayer when the Department of Education here released our temporary operating permit. We do not yet have our permanent operation permit, but the temporary one is good for now, and only has to be renewed yearly. One of the requirements for the permit is for me to take the upcoming board exam for educators. Please pray for me and our other members as we will take this at the end of September.
BIBLE COLLEGE – Pray for our Bible students. Three of them; Jecko, Wendy and Peter John will be graduating this year and have expressed a desire to be in full-time ministry. Pray that God would provide and lead them. Continue to pray for Bro. Joselito (The Jaguar), it is a big transition in his life as you know, but he is growing in the Lord, and his oldest son Kurt even came to church for the first time. Kurt said to me, “Thank you Pastor, it’s like I have a brand-new father.” I responded, it is not me, but is all God, and reminded him that God is real and God would love to touch his life also. His eyes watered up and he went home, he promised to be back in church soon.
I want to encourage you reader with a truth that God reminded me of. Missionary prayer letters are of course positive, they are the highlights of the ministry on the mission field, but they don’t mention of the heartaches and hardships that missionaries go through on the front lines of the battlefield for the souls of men. Often times, there is suffering acquainted with following the Lord by faith. But as Christians we must realize and be assured of that God always compensates His children for suffering for His name’s sake. Consider this truth, “And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.” (Luke 18:29-30)
